About me

May has been practicing physiotherapy since 1999, after graduating from McGill University.  She has worked in a variety of rural and urban private clinics in BC and Alberta, before becoming co-owner of Keary Physiotherapy from 2005 to 2013.

May's treatment philosophy is to spend quality time with her patients, to get at the root cause(s) of what is limiting their ability to move optimally.  She empowers them through education, exercises, and manual therapy.

She has received post graduate training in vestibular rehabilitation, Functional Dry Needling, K taping, Cranial Sacral Therapy and McKenzie technique for assessment and treatment of spinal conditions.

She has a special interest in Breast Health and Lymphedema.  She is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist for the upper extremity through Klose Training.

May strives to provide her patients with care that is practical, functional and up to date.  She wants to inspire and motivate every patient to get active and stay active!

Although I had planned on becoming a doctor, I changed my mind after accompanying a friend to a physiotherapy program orientation night at UBC. Everyone there was just so happy and seemed to have so much fun. I wanted to do what they were doing! Almost fourteen years later, and it’s still fun.  I love that every day, I get to sit down, connect and collaborate with people from all walks of life, people who want to feel better, move better and stay better. And, they want me to help them accomplish that! I am so proud of and inspired by my colleagues, who have helped shape what physiotherapy is
