I moved to BC, in December 2012. Currently I can be found at Affinity Wellness, in Kelowna.
Coming from a small town in rural Ottawa Valley, it was the landscape of trees, lakes and mountains that brought me to British Columbia. The Okanagan supports my active lifestyle, which includes running, hiking, climbing, and anything else that provides adventure.
I completed a B.Sc. in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph. It was while volunteering at a pool working with children with disabilities that inspired me to pursue a career in rehabilitation science. After undergrad, I returned to my hometown where I worked in a long-term care facility as a certified kinesiologist, providing exercises for residents with the goals of fall prevention, maintenance of mobility and strength, and maximizing cardiorespiratory function. I later went on to complete a Masters of Physiotherapy at McMaster University, in Hamilton, Ontario.
While I have had much work and volunteer experience with the pediatric population, I enjoy all aspects of physiotherapy. My particular interests lie in orthopaedics, falls prevention, sports injuries, pre- and rehab for orthopedic surgeries, and general health promotion. I also utilize acupuncture (AFCI) and functional dry needling (Kinetacore) in my practice. Starting summer 2022 I will have completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training to be able to provide 1:1 yoga as part of rehab.
