About me

Susan graduated from The Queens College, Glasgow in Scotland with a B.Sc. Degree in Physiotherapy (with Commendation). She began her career working in a rotational physiotherapist position in hospitals located in Aberdeen, Scotland gaining valuable experience in almost all areas of hospital-based adult and pediatric rehabilitation.

Since emigrating to Canada, Susan developed her clinical experience in private practice and completed numerous post-graduate, advanced manual therapy courses as well as gaining CGIMS (Intra-muscular Stimulation or dry needling) certification. She became a UBC sessional lecturer, teaching the electrotherapy component of the undergraduate physiotherapy program.

In 2009 Susan became co-owner of Go! Physiotherapy Sports + Wellness Centre in the Dunbar area of Vancouver. While enjoying the diagnostic and treatment challenges that a varied caseload entails, Susan has developed a particular interest in Women's Health including peri-natal health, continence, and breast health, assisting each client through the various stages of surgery and post-mastectomy rehabilitation.

More recently, Susan has become an instructor for Personalized Blood Flow Restriction rehabilitation certification courses, an innovative and evidence-based method to enhance strength while using only a light load. This role has entailed extensive travel to the UK, Netherlands, USA, and Taiwan teaching physiotherapists working in clinics as well as professional sport and military athletes.
