Shandia Cordingley BScPT, CGIMS, CAFCI, COMT(Aus), SPC(c)

Shandia graduated with from the University of Alberta in 2000.  She has since worked in various private practice clinics in Calgary, Australia, Whistler, Kelowna and Penticton.  Shandia has completed several post graduate courses in manual therapy, exercise prescription and sports therapy.  She completed her Certificate of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy in Australia in 2004 and is also certified in acupuncture and Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS).  She has also completed her Sport Physiotherapy Canada Certificate.

Shandia has worked with the Canadian Snowboard Team since 2010 and is the lead physiotherapist for the speed disciplines.  Over the years she has travelled with the team to several world cups, world championships and also joined the team at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi 2014 and Pyeongchang 2018.  She currently travels on the world cup circuit with the national snowboardcross team.  She was also a volunteer in the Whistler Polyclinic during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games.  In addition, Shandia also worked with Alpine Canada women's Europa Cup Team in 2008 and has volunteered at many other local, provincial and national sporting events over the years.

Shandia uses a range of techniques and specific exercises to develop an individual, comprehensive rehabilitation program for patients of all ages. She feels it is important to get to the cause of the problem and empower patients to take control of their rehab journey.  In addition to sports injuries, she also treats acute and chronic orthopedic issues, as well as educates patients how to prevent injuries with neuromuscular training.  Shandia has also completed her level 1 Titelist Performance Institute (TPI) golf assessment certification and Sport Related Concussion management certification.

Shandia herself played collegiate basketball and continues to stay active with kiteboarding, downhill skiing, yoga, mountain biking, golfing, waterskiing, wakesurfing, SUP, running with her dog and traveling.  She is also a Fast & Female ambassador.
