Shahab received two bachelor degrees in Physiology and Physical Therapy from McGill University in 1998 and 2001, respectively. He then completed a Masters degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland, Australia, in 2004. In addition, he completed his certification in Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) at the Institute for the Study of Pain (ISTOP) in 2007. Shahab is a qualified manipulative physiotherapist and Gunn IMS practitioner and possesses specialized clinical skills in the analysis and management of clients with musculoskeletal and neurological problems.
Shahab possesses many years of clinical experience treating a variety of orthopedic and sports injuries. His treatment techniques include manual therapy, joint manipulation, intramuscular stimulation (IMS) and exercise prescription. Being an IMS practitioner allows diagnosing and treating the chronic myofascial pain that can be present in the musculoskeletal system in absence of any obvious sign of injury or inflammation.
Areas of personal interest include treating headaches, neck, shoulder, lower back, and hip disorders.
