Growing up in the Lower Mainland, I have always had a passion for health care. Shortly after completing my Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Victoria in 2001, while travelling, I suffered several ankle sprains and turned to a physiotherapist for help once I returned home. During this experience, I realized I wanted to help people feel better as a physiotherapist and within a year I was attending the Masters of Physical Therapy program at the University of Western Ontario. After graduating in 2004, I returned to BC to start work with the Fraser Health Authority where I was able to consolidate my learning and treat a wide variety of clients at different stages of recovery. My extensive experience includes acute care, public home health, cancer rehabilitation, lymphedema management and palliative care. I enjoy the unique challenge that working with clients in their homes brings, and believe it is in the home that physiotherapists can have the most significant impact on a client's quality of life and function.
Using a holistic approach, my goal is to empower clients to remain independent, safe and confident in their home setting. I enjoy taking courses to enhance my practice and have most recently become a Certified Lymphedema Therapist. I am also a Yoga Teacher and my goal is to make yoga accessible to anyone that is open to learning the amazing benefits that yoga has to offer.
