About me

Jason is a physiotherapist, co-founder of PhysioFITT, and senior healthcare leader with more than 27 years’ experience providing physiotherapy services, leading teams, transforming healthcare systems, developing leaders, and teaching in post-secondary institutions in Canada and abroad.  Working across virtually all healthcare sectors, he has held senior level positions such as Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer.  Jason is an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia and Adjunct Lecturer in the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Fiji National University where he leads graduate level courses on leadership in rehabilitation and primary care.

 

With a keen interest in global development and international health, Jason has led and contributed to health system improvement projects in Central America and the Middle East.  Jason has facilitated numerous leadership and emotional intelligence workshops, co-authored a number of e-books on leadership, and has been published in a well-respected peer-reviewed medical journal in the area of pain science.

 

Jason holds a Bachelor Arts degree (Psychology) and Bachelor of Science degree (Physical Therapy) from the University of Saskatchewan, a Master of Science degree (Physical Therapy) from the University of Alberta, a Graduate Certificate in Health System Leadership from Royal Roads University and is an EQ-i / EQ360 Certified Practitioner and Achieve Global Leadership trainer.  Jason is the principal consultant for RehabLeadership, a leadership development consulting company focused on developing leaders in the field of rehabilitation.   Jason has spent more than two decades guiding patients through injury or illness into recovery, coaching leaders through challenging situations, advising senior executives, mentoring new managers, and successfully leading complex transformative change initiatives within large healthcare systems.

 

In his downtime, Jason can be found spending time with his family, adventuring in the backcountry, paddling, running in the forest, sailing, and fishing in Central America and the Kootenays of BC.
