ceo message

Dear PABC Membership,

On March 20th, 2023, I will step down as the CEO of PABC. To have been your CEO over the last six years, and to have had the opportunities and challenges of working within this community and leading the organization has been a real privilege.

As I reflect on my time at PABC, I am especially proud that, despite the challenges of a global pandemic, we were able to realize a five-year strategic plan that will continue to guide the work of the association as the new lead plans the next strategic plan.
The staff and strategic capacities of the organization have been greatly enhanced and it has positioned PABC as a trusted partner across multiple sectors and with government in ways crucial to advancing the position of physiotherapists in BC.

Collaboration and advocacy have been the two consistent words that stand out to me as I reflect on my time at PABC. I truly believe that collaboration is at the heart of all that PABC should do, especially in the process of developing and implementing the strategic plan, the governance model and staffing. It was also critical to have the collaboration and commitment of many members, staff and partners to see this evolve and flourish.
Advocacy is just as important. Advocating on behalf of our members has resulted in growth across all that PABC does. We have seen significant growth in the number of seats at UBC, in the physio agreements with ICBC, WSBC and third-party providers, and in our relationship with government and multiple other stakeholders.

This has been an extraordinary opportunity to meet and work with people I would otherwise never have known. I have learned so much working with so many of you, and to each of you I say thank you.

Moving forward, my days will be spent more with family, as we welcome more grandchildren, cycling and golf.
