About me

 

Mary Lou received her Bachelor of Health Sciences degree in Physical Therapy from McMaster University in 1994.  She also holds a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Alberta and a Masters in Motor Learning and Control from the University of British Columbia.  While at UBC she did her thesis research with Dr. Ian Franks director of the Motor Learning & Control Laboratory in the Department of Human Kinetics.

Mary Lou has worked as a Registered Physical Therapist in private practice in Vancouver since 1994.  She has continued to pursue post graduate training in Physical Therapy in the areas of orthopedic manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, sport physiotherapy, posture and muscle balance, and core stability and breathing.  In addition, Mary Lou has extensive training in the Feldenkrais® Method which facilitates better posture and breathing as well as improved coordination and muscle balance.  Mary Lou studied directly with Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais and became a Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner in 1983.  She has been teaching the Feldenkrais Method since 1983.
