Lorenda Hattingh

Lorenda Hattingh is the owner of Dynamic Focus Physiotherapy in Nanoose Bay. She offers specialized oncology rehabilitation services to patients who have undergone, and are currently undergoing, cancer treatment.

As a cancer rehabilitation physiotherapist, she provides oncology-specific treatment for all types of cancer in any phase of treatment. Types of Cancers covered include Head and Neck Cancer, Breast Cancer, Gynaecological Cancer, Colorectal Cancers, and Multiple Myeloma.

Lorenda developed a keen interest in oncology rehabilitation due to a growing need for specialized rehabilitation in this population.

She completed several advanced training and certification courses including:

• PORi’s (Physiological Oncology Rehabilitation Institute) – Denver, Colorado, USA  

Foundation in Oncology Rehabilitation and Certified Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Therapist - 2018

• PINC Cancer Rehabilitation Certification – Auckland, New Zealand, Cancer Rehabilitation for women with all types of cancer - 2021

• Vodder Lymphedema – Dr. Vodder School-International. Level III Lymphedema Therapist. MLD/CDT- 2022

There is now an overwhelming body of research showing the benefits of physical activity and rehabilitation during and after cancer treatments in reducing symptom burden, preventing, and managing side effects of treatment, and improving the quality of survivorship and prognosis.
