Heather Worthington

Heather is an MPT/PhD student in the Department of Physical Therapy and the Graduate Programs in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of British Columbia. She is in her first year of training to become a physiotherapist, and through her doctoral studies plans to conduct research on access to physiotherapy services.

She received a Master of Science in Epidemiology from Queen’s University in 2014, and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Waterloo in 2012. Through a life-changing injury, she experienced the integral role physiotherapists play in the health system as well as became acutely aware of the gaps in care experienced by physiotherapy patients. This inspired her to pursue a career as a clinician-scientist.
