Anita has been a physiotherapist since 2001. She graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology before continuing on to obtain a Bachelor of Physical Therapy from University of British Columbia. She treats all persons with orthopeadic injuries whether related from sports, leisure/daily activities, post surgery, motor vehicle accidents, or work.
Anita completed Level 3 of the manual therapy orthopeadic level system at UBC in 2006. She has also completed continuing education courses in many specific areas some of which include: the back, neck and shoulder. In 2012 she completed the anatomical acupuncture level 2 course and passed the exams to practice acupuncture in the clinic. She also recently completed the Gunn IMS certification at UBC. She further completed the advanced vestibular rehabilitation course and now treats vestibular conditions such as vertigo.
Anita's treatment model aims to blend manual therapy techniques with exercise rehabilitation and motor control. On top of working with orthopaedic injuries, she also welcomes assessments and exercise design for persons looking for preventative care on core stability, general or pre-surgery strengthening, or osteoporosis and posture. Anita has also worked in occupational rehabilitation.
Outside of work, you can find Anita enjoying a variety of fitness activities at the gym including aerobics/dance, weight training, yoga, and spinning. Outside of the gym she enjoys paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, running and biking. During the weekends, you will find Anita working away in her garden while sporting a Canucks jersey.
