About me

Andrea completed a BSc in Biology at UBC (1997) before moving overseas to complete an honours degree in Physiotherapy (2000) at Coventry University in England. She practiced in the UK and then in Vancouver before accepting a position at the sports medicine clinic at the University of Western Ontario. During her time at Western, she worked with varsity athletes and completed a Masters degree in orthopedic physiotherapy (2005). Since returning to Vancouver in 2005, she has completed her Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy as well as Diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Therapy (FCAMT). in 2009 she completed certification in Intramuscular Stimulation (ChanGunn IMS) which is a type of deep acupuncture for soft tissue pain. Andrea has worked in sports medicine for the past 18 years and, while working with all types of clients, has treated athletes from the recreational to the elite level. She has particular experience in rugby, field hockey, ice hockey, football, basketball, track and field, swimming, and gymnastics.

Andrea holds a part-time instructor role with the Department of Physiotherapy at UBC where she has taught for the past 10 years.  A home she's busy with three boys who keep things lively!
