Stephanie received her Masters of Physical Therapy degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC). She is certified in Anatomical Acupuncture through CAFCI and Gunn IMS through UBC. She has continued her studies with the Orthopaedic division having completed Level 3 Lower and Upper courses. Her passion lies within movement and Stephanie has integrating Clinical Pilates with multiple populations from Scoliosis to sports rehab and also spent time working with the neurological population. Stephanie completed her C2 training with Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School and has seen the benefits of integrating Schroth principles with both adolescents and the adult populations.
Stephanie pursued her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University while competing for the Track & Field team. She went on to present Canada internationally at the Olympics in 2004 and was a 3 time Bronze medalist at Commonwealth Games and Pan American Games in the Pole Vault. Stephanie retired from sport in 2008 and found a new passion in promoting health and wellness through Pilates. She became a fully certified STOTT Pilates instructor in 2009 (Level II-Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Barrels) and worked throughout the Vancouver area focusing on improving her client’s core strength, helping them rehabilitate from various injuries and educating them on basic injury prevention. She has continued her movement training with a variety of rehab Pilates courses and also completed her 200Hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2018.
Stephanie is passionate about improving her client’s overall functional ability and transferring the postures and exercises used in Pilates along with her manual therapy and handling skills as a physiotherapist to improve their activities of daily living. She integrates her knowledge of human movement and training in functional movement screening (FMS) to help her clients suffering from a variety of injuries. In her spare time Stephanie remains very active with cycling, swimming, hiking, yoga and Pilates.
