About me

Tamarah graduated with her Master of Physiotherapy in 2007 from Curtin University in Perth, Australia. Since then, she has been working in private practice in Vancouver, BC. While in Australia, Tamarah pursued her interest in women's health through various avenues: pioneering a post partum exercise pamphlet; honing her interest in sport  (working with the national Australian rules football team) and related physiotherapy treatment; and completing her Master's thesis on the practice of 'core' stability programs in the rehabilitation of osteitis pubis/groin injuries.

Tamarah has a keen interest in women's health and pelvic health issues; she leverages her further professional development and certifications specific to women's health namely, in the treatment of pre/post natal patients, rectus diastasis (a separation of the abdominal wall during pregnancy), pelvic floor rehabilitation, pediatric continence, prolapse, urinary incontinence, pelvic pain issues, post surgical and osteoporotic patients. Tamarah continues to treat diverse sports related injuries to a wide range of clientele as well.

Tamarah's approach to treatment is facilitated from her extensive post grad course work. She believes in a holistic whole body approach. She is certified to assess and treat pelvic floor dysfunction (internal examination), obtaining advanced certification in incontinence, prolapse, anorectal dysfunction, pelvic pain, sexual medicine, pediatric continence issues, endometriosis and pudendal neuralgia. Further, Tamarah is working toward her Visceral and Craniosacral certification with the Barral Institute. In addition, Tamarah is also certified in Acupuncture (CAFCI).

Tamarah has completed professional training in The Integrated Systems Model (Lee D 2011- The Pelvic Girdle 4th edition ), a whole body assessment and treatment approach practiced extensively at Diane Lee & Associates. She assisted and co taught on Diane Lee’s ISM Series, Abdominal Wall Course and Women’s Health Course.

Tamarah speaks locally at conferences and private engagements bringing awareness to women’s health issues and pelvic health through the lifespan. She is a member and volunteer with numerous professional associations, and attends conferences internationally to facilitate evidence based practice and advocacy.

Tamarah recently completed her post graduate work at UBC, a Graduate Certificate in Orthopedic and Manual Therapy (GCOMPT)(FCAMPT). Her research project focusing on advocacy for change in policy for treatment of pelvic health conditions through the lifespan. Furthermore, Tamarah is certified in and has worked privately teaching Pilates (mat and reformer), and previously ran her own personal training business in Vancouver for 15 years.

Outside of physiotherapy, Tamarah enjoys family life and activities in the outdoors (mountain biking, SUP, snowboarding, hiking). She is a runner who enjoys competing in ½ marathons and trail races. Tamarah is the proud mother of four kids, motherhood keeps her happy, laughing, active and smiling everyday.
