About me

Scott graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1995 and has been active in the sports physiotherapy community since that time.  He has worked in the Allan McGavin Sports Medicine group since 1996 and has a special interest in lower extremity biomechanics and treating conditions of the foot and ankle.  Scott has worked as a physiotherapist for many sports teams and organizations including the Colorado Ballet Company, the Canadian Men’s and Women’s National Basketball teams, and the Men’s National Field Hockey team.  He worked with the national men’s Field Hockey team at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and also worked as a deputy venue medical supervisor for short track speed skating at our 2010 Vancouver Olympics.  As the coordinator of Varsity Trainer Services at UBC, Scott educates student trainers about taping, on-field management of acute injuries, and the management of ongoing injuries during the season.  He is an examiner for the post-graduate diploma program offered by Sports Physiotherapy Canada.  Scott has presented to varied audiences at numerous conferences including the Canadian Academy of Sports Medicine, PFOLA, Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Symposiums, the British Columbia Medical Association and Sports Physiotherapy Canada.
