If you have experience in delivering physiotherapy virtually, and you’ve been searching for an opportunity to work with individuals with vertebral fractures, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our team as a part of a multi-centre, pilot implementation effectiveness trial. The VIVA (Virtual Intervention for Vertebral Fracture) study is a CIHR-funded national study. In BC, we aim to recruit 8 participants from private clinics over 5 months, aged ≥40 years, with recent vertebral fractures or persistent fracture-related pain.
The Study: VIVA is an 8-week intervention study aimed at managing vertebral fractures through pain management, safe movement, exercise, and nutrition. With sites in British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec, this study aims to test the effectiveness and implementation of VIVA over 8 weeks in people with a painful osteoporotic fracture. Through a randomized controlled trial, participants will receive either immediate or delayed exposure to VIVA. The study will also assess the experiences of both the participants and the providers.
