Kelowna SMILE Therapy for Kids provides a multidisciplinary and diverse approach to pediatric therapy. Kelowna SMILE Therapy for Kids is locally owned and licensed under SMILE Therapy for Kids a Toronto based clinic owned by renowned therapist, mentor and teacher JoAnne Weltman. JoAnne is also the co-founder of DMI therapy which is foundational in the services delivered through SMILE. At SMILE Therapy for Kids the program for each child is unique. Overview:
We are seeking a fun, compassionate, and dedicated pediatric Physical Therapist to join our new Kelowna SMILE Therapy for Kids location. This position will require the therapist to:
- Support children with a variety of disabilities to maximize their participation while supporting and promoting the physical and psychosocial well being of the children and their families.
- Provide assessment and intervention with support of assisting staff.
- Work closely with parents and other therapists as part of a multidisciplinary team to optimize growth and development.
- Work with volunteers and students.
- Ongoing support, mentorship and training will be offered to facilitate your continued development as a therapist.

Requirements:
- Graduate from accredited PT/OT program
- Registered member of CPTBC/COTBC
- Proven ability and willingness to work as an integral member of a team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Computer skills
- Strong time-management skills
- Ability to work independently with little direction, self-motivated, and demonstrates initiative
- Experience working with children with a variety of developmental, physical, cognitive, behavioural and communicative disorders
- Excellent ability to organize, coordinate and manage the program demands in a fast-paced environment
- High level of attention to detail and confidentiality.
At our facility, we are committed to providing ongoing professional development opportunities for our staff. All staff will be trained in DMI Dynamic Movement Intervention and will be trained on the implementation of intensive therapy programs in addition to being trained on many other pediatric therapy strategies and methods.
