Physiotherapists are often tasked with helping their clients improve their physical performance. If a client or athlete has limited availability or time, they can follow a prescribed regime to focus on maintaining the same performance levels instead.

This edition of Physio Finds provides an article that highlights how "exercise intensity seems to be the key variable for maintaining physical performance over time, despite relatively large reductions in exercise frequency and volume."

"By prescribing specific exercises at appropriate doses and with sufficient recovery periods, exercise and sport professionals can evoke substantial improvements in physical performance."

This study, published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research's May 2021 Issue, can be viewed here.
