Holding the door open for a stranger, spontaneously treating a friend to dinner; being kind feels good. Turns out, it’s good for you, too.
One systematic review and meta-analysis found that kindness improves the well-being of the person initiating the act.
The benefits aren’t exceptional, but are comparable to other positive practices such as mindfulness and positive thinking.
These findings support policy-makers and practitioners in being correct that kindness interventions can be effective to improve well-being. So, be kind and share this post with a friend.
