National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The day honours the children who never returned home and the Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. The process of Truth requires that we commemorate the tragic and painful history of residential schools as well as the ongoing impacts they have to this day.

The principles of Truth and Reconciliation are important to us as an association. We took the day to watch a TedxTalk by Kevin Lamoureux (see below) and had an in-depth confab afterward. "To see each other, in each other's stories" was one of many inspirational quotes that resonated with the group and brought added poignancy to the discussion.
