July is a time of transition in the position of PT Knowledge Broker working with Alison Hoens – we say a heartfelt thank you to Paul Blazey for his exemplary work over the past year and extend a warm welcome to Jason Craig who steps into the position. We wish Paul all the best for happiness and success in the next steps in his career.
Here are a few words of introduction from Jason:
I am honoured to be joining Alison as a PT Knowledge Broker and feel privileged to be working with all of you. Having lived and worked in several BC communities, I am grateful to currently live, work, and play on the Unceded Traditional Territory of the K’omoks and Laichwiltach First Nations.
A little bit about me: Before becoming a physiotherapist, I was a Math, Physical Education, and Science teacher, and continue to be especially interested in the education of both clinicians and patients. Since graduating from the UBC MPT program in 2008 I have worked in a variety of health care settings and held several roles including those in private practice, public practice, and as a medical report editor.
Over the years, I have enjoyed working in both children's health (supporting children with all abilities) and senior health (home and community care). I have always appreciated the scientific process and my passion for knowledge translation was kindled while serving as the Resource Physiotherapist at the Queen Alexandra Centre for Children’s Health. I am committed to continuing this learning journey and look forward to working for and with you as a PT Knowledge Broker!
