Directions Summer 2021 Digital-only issue

For the first time, we’re publishing Directions exclusively online. PABC’s new President, Curtis Wong, leads off the issue with an insightful message of resilience and support.

Viewable as an interactive online flipbook, in our second Directions issue of 2021, Ryan Sleik, PT, PABC’s Rural and Remote Committee Chair and Co-Owner of Creekside Physiotherapy Clinic, Judy Sturgeon, PT and Owner of Little Shuswap Physiotherapy Services and Bryce Kelly, DPT, Owner of Freedom Physiotherapy give insight into virtual care in rural practice. Tyson Bell writes about how the pivot to virtual care can prepare us for changes needed to support climate action and we highlight technologies and virtual tools that have helped the physiotherapy industry progress into an even more supportive profession.

This issue also covers ICBC’s recently launched Enhanced Care system and recent PABC events such as Member Day, CPA’s Congress 2021, and the PABC Awards recipients. In the MPT Student Corner, you will find interesting content about telehealth and telerehabilitation, written by Jacob Coelho and Ariane Giroux, UBC MPT Students and PABC Board Members. Last but not least, PABC’s Knowledge Broker, Alison Hoens, contributed a fascinating piece titled “Let’s Not Be Satisfied With ‘Satisfaction’.”

We’re excited to present you our digital-only issue and hope you enjoy reading it!
