Manual Therapy

A hands on approach to treating joint and soft tissue restrictions

IMS

Intra-muscular stimulation (IMS) is a dry needling technique that uses the same needles as in acupuncture.  The needles are inserted into tight, shortened muscles creating relaxation of the muscle resulting in less pain, stiffness and increased mobility.

Radial Shock-Wave

The most cutting edge technology used to treat chronic soft tissue conditions such as tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonosis, or calcific tendonosis.  Using intense physical percussions this treatment is the gold standard in helping with chronic soft tissue conditions.

Exercise Prescription

Careful prescription of strengthening and stretching suited to your individual needs helping you achieve better function.  This may consist of core stabilization, balance exercises, muscle re-training, postural strengthening, and sport specific strengthening.  A home program will be provided to allow you to work on some exercises on your own.

Post Surgical Rehabilitation

Following surgery, we will help you get back to better functioning.  Reducing swelling, improving range of motion, strengthening are just a few of the ways Forte Sport & Orthopaedic Physiotherapy will help you achieve your rehabilitation goals.
