About me

My name is Dave Leyland and I am a graduate of the Physical and Health Education program and Physiotherapy programs at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. I am now working as a physiotherapist at Level 10 Fitness in North Vancouver and I also provide private consultations upon request.

Before becoming a physiotherapist I worked as a strength and conditioning coach for 5 years while completing my undergraduate and physiotherapy education. The experience in strength and conditioning has helped immensely with the transition into my work as a physiotherapist. The 2 realms can be and should be, highly connected.

With my current work I like to look at the whole body and try to figure out how dysfunction in multiple areas may lead to pain in one. I also pride myself in giving my patients one-on-one focussed care for a full 30-60 minutes and refuse to bounce around from patient to patient in multiple rooms. I believe this is what all physiotherapy clinics should work towards and becomes the common standard of care by the time my career is over.

As an active individual in high school I received treatment for a few minor injuries from a physiotherapist and though my time in rehab was short, I still thought it would be an awesome career. Also as an athlete, but aware I would be unable to make a career out of athletics, I wanted a career that would keep me as connected as possible to athletes/active individuals. After doing a ton of volunteering in my university days and working as a strength and conditioning coach, I knew I could take my career to the next level as a physiotherapist.
