I have always loved the study of biology and human sciences and knew I wanted to work in the medical field. After a car accident in grade 12, I met the most fabulous physiotherapist. I did not know what physiotherapy was prior to my own therapy. I knew instantly that this was my calling. Knowing the challenge of getting into the program at UBC and actually succeeding was the confirmation that I made the right choice. What I have learned over the years is how our physical health is so integrated in our spirtual, and emotional health. I have enjoyed the continuing journey of study and witnessing

I volunteered to accompany the Manitoba Wheelchair sports team travelling to the National games in Newfoundland in 1978. That exposure to extraordinary athletes and to the amazing physiotherapists who partnered with them inspired me to apply for Physiotherapy and here I am still loving this profession. I am grateful for all the people who have shared their journeys through challenges with me. I have learned far more than I have taught and that continues to inspire me.

I was originally working in the fitness industry prior to becoming a physiotherapist. It was my time working as an instructor at a cardiac rehabilitation program that made me realize the importance of movement and the profound ability of our bodies to heal.
