Hybrid learning on-line & in-class March 28-29, 2020
Headache is a common presentation in Physiotherapy practice and often related to cervical dysfunction. This unique “flipped classroom approach delivers both an on-line theoretical program followed by an in-person weekend intensive course. First you will have access to a 10 part pre-course delivered on-line with participants working at their own pace. Dictated PowerPoint presentations review headache classification with a particular focus on cervicogenic headache and dizziness sub-types and include:
• Screening for red and yellow flags
• Headache/Dizziness classification & diagnosis
• Medical & Physiotherapy treatment options including:
• Exercise
• Soft tissue interventions
• Manual therapy interventions
Videos, selected readings, cheat sheets and a 200+ page downloadable handout support the online program. Following the online program a 2-day skill lab will assist participants gain skill in the assessment & management of cervicogenic headache & dizziness. Treatment interventions including; medical exercise, neuro-proprioception training, self-mobilization, mobilizations, mobilizations with movement, and manipulation of the cervico-thoracic region will be practiced and refined. This program is appropriate both for those rostered to use spinal manipulation and those seeking to build skill towards this designation. Participants who do not feel sufficiently confident may opt out of any portion of the skills class.

Dr. Jack Miller BSc(PT), Dip MT(NZ), MClSc, DPT, FCAMPT
Jack completed his BSc in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. He then spent six years in Australia and New Zealand where he completed an advanced specialty Diploma of Manipulative Therapy. He has a Masters of Clinical Science from Western University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from the University of St. Augustine.
Jack is an accredited Mulligan concept teacher, was editor of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association’s Orthopaedic Journal, an executive member of the Orthopaedic Division of CPA, the President of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physical Therapy and a member of the CPA Specialization accreditation committee. He currently works as an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist in Ontario.
