The Physical Therapy Knowledge Broker (PT KB) position is jointly funded by several partner organizations: The Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia, The UBC Department of Physical Therapy, Vancouver Coastal Health Research Institute, and Providence Health Care Research Institute. View the complete list of partners as of March 2015.

The primary purpose of the PT KB is to facilitate knowledge translation (KT), i.e., the adoption of research into practice. Alison works with PABC and partner organizations to:

  • Build awareness of knowledge translation opportunities in the BC PT community
  • Engage stakeholders (eg. clinicians, opinion leaders, researchers, administrators, professional organizations) in collaboration to enhance knowledge translation.
  • Develop resources and capacity for ‘evidence-informed’ decision making, and
  • Incorporate evaluation to ensure accountability
