Workshape clinic has operated out of the YWCA downtown for over 15 years. We run an OR1 program and RTWSS for worksafeBC as well as some private rehab clients.
If you are unfamiliar with the OR1 program, it consists of an intake assessment, a 4 to 6 week rehab program that is attended for up to 4 hours per day for up to 5 days per week and a discharge assessment with return to work planning that may include job site visits. OR1 runs from 8:30 to 1pm daily. RTWSS are grossly managed outside of this time frame.
RTWSS - is return to work services and involves keeping and returning clients to work, reporting, phone monitoring and job site visits.
We are looking for a permanent lead physiotherapist. Our contract with WSBC requires a minimum of 2 years experience treating orthopedic conditions or one year in an OR1 program. The physiotherapist will be responsible for leading the treatment and rehab for all the OR1 clients and will have the support of two experienced kinesiologists. Remuneration is hourly for OR1 and Commission for any RTWSS.
Good communication skills are a must with an interest in orthopaedics and ergonomics.
Part time hours at Burrard Physiotherapy - up to 3 afternoons a week are available if you prefer to work full time, I will hold these hours for the successful applicant. Burrard Physiotherapy is 5 blocks south of the YWCA. Our current PT who is leaving mid January does both OR1, RTWSS and 3 afternoons up at the clinic. We are sad to see him returning to his home in Ireland.
